Ideas worth sharing - Cookbook Club
I was delighted to see that my friend Lauren (Rapp) had invited me over for a potluck at her house, but this isn’t your ordinary potluck. Her and her friend Joshua Robinson had come up with an idea that I had never heard of until the invitation, the Cookbook Club! I love this idea so much and I can’t believe this isn’t already a thing. Turns out they (Lauren & Joshua) had the same thought, “Wouldn't it be awesome to gather all of our friends who enjoying cooking and cookbooks in one place to cook from the same book?“
For their first cookbook gathering, they're going to share recipes from Joshua McFadden's Six Seasons, which showcases dishes inspired by seasonal produce. I bought the book and I’m so excited to have it. I would have not known about it otherwise. While it’s recommended that everyone buy the book, it is not mandatory. You could always get a recipe from the book from someone who has it before everyone gets together. The idea for the gathering is to make something from the book and coordinate with the other guests so that everyone makes something different!
For future Cookbook Club get-togethers, the host will pick the book that everyone should cook from. As a food nerd, I’m excited to see what cookbooks get selected for future gatherings. I’m also excited to always have a reason to cook new dishes with other food friends!
I hope this inspires you to start your own Cookbook Club!
